Assoc Prof Marcelo Nascimento

Associate Professor Marcelo Nascimento is the first Gold Coast based certified Gynaecological Oncologist who focusses on surgical treatment and management of pre-malignant and malignant conditions of the female genital tract. Associate Professor Nascimento is the director of the gynaecological oncology unit at Gold Coast University Hospital and Associate Professor at Griffith University’s school of medicine, actively contributing to the development of medical students in our community. He received his board certification in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1996 and board certification in surgical oncology in 1999. He then completed three years of additional training in gynaecological oncology in Brisbane and at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.

Associate Professor Nascimento was one of the senior surgeons at the newly formed peritonectomy unit and advanced gynaecological cancer surgical department at the Chris O`Brien Lifehouse in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, where he worked in 2017.

He is currently attending his private Gynecologic Oncology practice at Pindara Specialist Suites and operates at both Gold Coast Private Hospital and Pindara Hospital.
