Dr Michelle Atkinson

Dr Michelle Atkinson is one of Sydney’s well-known adult degenerative spine surgeons and one of less than five percent of orthopaedic surgeons in Australia who are female. Having completed her training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association at centres in rural and metropolitan NSW, Michelle travelled to further centres of excellence in the USA and the UK to increase her knowledge and experience in spinal surgery. 

Michelle has been consulting on the Northern Beaches since 2000 as one of the members of Peninsula Orthopaedics.  She provides care for adults from 16yrs upwards for trauma, deformity, degenerative, tumour and infective spinal disorders. She is an elected member of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons RACS NSW committee and of The Australian Orthopaedic Association’s Orthopaedic Women’s Link.
