Dr Joel Collins is a Queensland-based Clinical Haematologist with a special interest in the diagnosis and management of iron deficiency and anaemia, particularly in women and children. He is the founder and medical lead of The Iron Infusion Clinic – one of Australia’s largest and most specialised outpatient services for intravenous iron therapy, now operating across Toowoomba, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.
Dr Collins is passionate about improving access to safe, timely and evidence-based iron treatment, and has developed a streamlined model of care that supports general practitioners, obstetricians, and other specialists in managing iron-related conditions. His clinical focus includes iron deficiency with or without anaemia, heavy menstrual bleeding, pregnancy-related iron loss, and malabsorption syndromes such as coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
A graduate of Griffith University, Dr Collins completed advanced haematology training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and formerly served as Chief Medical Registrar at RBWH.
