Mr Adam Skidmore is a surgeon with a particular clinical interest in Upper Gastrointestinal, weight loss and metabolic surgery. He maintains a practice in General surgery including Gallbladder disease, Hernias, Bowel cancer and Stomach/Oesophageal cancer surgery.
Adam is a graduate of the University of Melbourne. He then trained in General Surgery at the Austin Hospital. After obtaining his FRACS he went to the UK and obtained further advanced training in Oesophageal and Gastric surgery. Adam worked with Shaw Somers one of the best known Upper Gastrointestinal surgeons in the United Kingdom. This included performing Oesophageal and gastric cancer surgery as well as hiatal hernia surgery and advanced Laparoscopic surgery.

Adam offers a full range of Bariatric procedures. He was one of the first surgeons in Melbourne to perform both gastric bypass surgery for
obesity and the sleeve gastrectomy, and he performs complex revision surgery for failed lap bands, sleeves, bypass and stapling.
He also offers an extensive range of general surgery procedures including Laparoscopic Hernia surgery, Gallbladder surgery, Minor skin
lesions, Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy, Upper GI Malignancy, all aspects of Upper GI surgery including Hiatal hernia and Achalasia.
Currently Adam is on the board of the Australian and NZ Society of Metabolic and Obesity Surgery and is an active member of the International Society for Diseases of the Oesophagus.
