Dr Adetokunbo Alege

Dr Alege obtained his primary qualification from the University of Ilorin Nigeria and proceeded to pursue postgraduate training in the UK and through the Australian College.   Dr Alege is widely travelled and is culturally sensitive to diverse issues as they affect mental health.

Dr Alege worked extensively in the UK and remains a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK since moving to Australia in 2008.   Dr Alege and his family moved to Queensland as they were impressed with the serenity and family friendliness that was on offer.

Dr Alege worked for four years with Queensland Health and as a Consultant Psychiatrist at Redlands Hospital unti he joined Pine Rivers Private Hospital in 2012.   Dr Alege favours a collaborative approach with participation of GP’s and allied professionals to ensure the best outcome for the patient. He has consistently worked with multidisciplinary teams and carers.

Dr Alege is a fitness enthusiast and is a believer in the need to maintain a sound body to ensure a healthy mind and he incorporates this into patient care.   Dr Alege's clinical interests are in Adult Mental Health with a focus on mood disorders, psychosis and psychiatry of the intellectually challenged.  Dr Alege also does telepsychiatry but is unable to attend to patients under the Mental Health Act.
