Dr Anandaram Jothibabu

Dr Jothibabu is a consultant psychiatrist is based in Northpark Private Hospital from 2015 providing outpatient and inpatient care to patients. He has experience in both public and private mental health settings. After gaining his advanced qualifications in Psychiatry from India in 2000, he relocated to Australia and has been working here for last two decades.

Andy,as he is called by his clients and staff, obtained his fellowship in Psychiatry and worked in South Australia and later in Victoria. He has worked at Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton,The Northern Hospital in Epping and Northwest area mental health providing outpatient and inpatient care to the clients. He was also the Director of Medical Education and Research in Psychiatry at Goulburn Valley Health during the period of 2013-14 with responsibilities including training Registrars and medical officers, as well as organising educational programs in the hospital.

Andy has participated in education and awareness programs for general practitioners, consumers and their families regarding mental health and substance abuse issues. He has experience in treating clients with psychotic illness, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depression and posttraumatic stress disorders. His area of particular clinical interest is treatment of mental health issues associated with drug and alcohol use and ADHD. He has a holistic approach to treating his clients with medication, supportive and cognitive behavioural psychotherapies. He encourages his clients to focus on quality of life and wellbeing while recovering from their mental health issues.
