Dr Blake Knapman

Dr Knapman is an obstetrician, gynaecologist and laparoscopic surgeon who is dedicated to women’s health and the delivery of metropolitan outcomes in regional areas. With a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Diagnostic Radiography, a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery and dual Masters in Reproductive and Women’s Health Medicine from the University of Sydney, the University of Notre Dame and the University of New South Wales respectively, he has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to continued professional development with a view to optimising patient care.

Dr Knapman has completed his specialist training in obstetrics & gynaecology at the Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney, where he worked for almost a decade. During this time he was fortunate to be mentored by leading Australian experts in both high and low risk obstetrics, gynaecological surgery and women's medical imaging. Most importantly, 'the Royal' is where he met his wife (Jess) and where she birthed their beautiful daughter. In addition to his specialist training, Dr Knapman has completed separate fellowships in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and women's medical imaging. He has a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy & hysteroscopic surgery from the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery (AGES) Society achieved under the tutelage of Professor Jason Abbott. This experience has equipped Dr Knapman with expertise in the medical and surgical management of endometriosis and other gynaecological conditions within a patient-centred framework. Recognising the importance of high-quality imaging in women’s health, He has completed the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) during his two-year imaging fellowship at the Royal Hospital for Women

Having been born and raised on a farm near Gunnedah, Dr Knapman has insight into the unique challenges that regional women face when seeking healthcare. He has a friendly and down-to-earth approach and works hard to ensure that his patients feel at ease. When he's not working, Dr Knapman enjoys spending time with family and friends and is thrilled to be living back in their region!
