Dr Danielle Stefanski is an obtained her MBBS from Monash University in 1999.

Her dedication to make an impact in the field of public health and tropical medicine led her to successfully complete a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene with the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine in 2007. The following years Danielle was the inaugural Director of the Botswana-University of Pennsylvania Partnership clinical education outreach programme, leading a team of elite doctors to help rural and remote hospitals improve the care of patients, many of whom were living with HIV/AIDS. Under her leadership, the programme expanded from 4 to 13 hospitals in 18 months.

Upon returning back to Australia with her young family in 2009, she completed infectious diseases training at Monash Health, gaining a fellowship of the RACP in 2012 and has since held a continuing appointment at Monash Health in Melbourne.

Danielle’s ongoing commitment to equity of access to health resulted in concurrent appointments in regional Victoria and Queensland over the past decade. She held positions as a general medicine and infectious diseases physician in clinical and leadership roles including Clinical Lead in Medicine and Director of Clinical Training.

Danielle is fluent in Polish.
