Dr Marco Raftopulos is a tertiary trained paediatric & adult ENT Surgeon with a sub-speciality interest in rhinology & sinus disorders, allergy and sleep surgery.
Dr Raftopulos grew up in Sydney where he undertook his education and medical training. Dr Raftopulos studied Medicine at the University of New South Wales and graduated in 2008. In 2014, Dr Raftopulos was selected for specialist training in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery and was awarded his Fellowship by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2019.
During his training Dr Raftopulos rotated through several high volume and speciality terms including extensive paediatric ENT training at both Sydney Children’s Hospital and Westmead Children’s Hospital.
He also obtained further training in Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Sleep Surgery. In addition to his studies, Dr Raftopulos was elected as the national ENT trainee representative to both the ASOHNS and RACTSA boards.
After obtaining his Fellowship in Australia, Dr Raftopulos was selected for a prestigious International Fellowship in The Netherlands and undertook further sub-speciality training in rhinology, advanced sinus surgery & skull base disorders. Whilst overseas he was a co-author on the European Position Paper on Sinus disease (EPOS2020).
In addition to his ENT expertise, Dr Raftopulos has a strong academic and research focus, having held associate lecturer positions at UNSW. Dr Raftopulos has published widely and has presented both nationally and internationally.
As a parent to two young children, Dr Raftopulos enjoys spending his spare time with his family, on the beach and in his local community.
