After graduating from the University of Queensland Medical School, Dr Isabella Mor trained in General Surgery at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. She was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2005. Further training in colorectal surgery was undertaken in the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. Over a two year period in parallel with the American Board in colorectal surgery trainees she gained further experience in the surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease, familial polyposis syndromes and cancer of the colon and rectum. Specific subspecialty training was completed in minimally invasive colorectal surgery. She returned to Australia in 2008 and commenced practice at the John Flynn and Tweed Hospitals.
Since then, Dr Mor has undergone further training in robotic surgery and is an active participant in the expansion of the Robotic Colorectal Program at John Flynn and Tweed. She is a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) and the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA).
Dr Mor has presented and published both locally and internationally on several topics in colorectal surgery.
In addition to her specific clinical interest in colorectal surgery, Dr Mor maintains an active role in the education of medical students, junior doctors and general surgical trainees.
