Dr. Kenneth K.Y. Shum

Dr. Shum is a Rehabilitation Medicine Physician and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician.

Dr. Shum is pleased to offer rehabilitation and pain management inpatient consultation services at Knox Private Hospital. His vision is to provide a well-coordinated transition of medically optimised patients from acute medical and post-operative care into a rehabilitation setting, to promote the best functional outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Dr. Shum completed his medical training in 2005 at Monash University and has a dual qualification in Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He has helped develop persistent pain service models in the private sector in his role as medical lead, in combination with allied health services. He is engaged in fellowship training programs as a trainee supervisor and examiner.

His existing private rehabilitation and pain practice encompasses post-operative and pain rehabilitation, reconditioning, with particular interests in post-operative pain, geriatric pain, widespread and regional pain syndromes and post-injury rehabilitation.

Dr. Shum sees private, WorkCover and TAC patients in his rooms at The Victorian Rehabilitation Centre and Cabrini Malvern.
