Dr LP Cheah is an experienced specialist surgeon and endoscopist who has performed over 15,000 procedures. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with First Class Honours as the top medical student in 1997 and received 23 prizes and awards. He completed his surgical training in both England and Australia. Dr Cheah set up Melbourne Surgery in 2006 and is committed to providing safe and affordable health care to his patients.
He is committed to providing a service to regional Victoria and he consults in Echuca and Seymour. In addition, he sees a lot of non-English speaking patients (including recent migrants/refugees, overseas students).
He has a strong interest in teaching surgery and his research interest is in electronic handover systems and web-based learning for medical students and doctors sitting for the AMC exams.
With a personal motto of treating his patients as he would like his family members to be treated, Dr Cheah is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien), Malay/Indonesian and also speaks some Italian and Persian.
