Dr Owen Jenkins is a Queensland trained Orthopaedic surgeon based in South Brisbane.
Owen obtained his medical degree in the UK and worked for a few valuable years within the NHS completing his residency at a large tertiary teaching hospital. He developed his passion for Orthopaedic surgery early on in his medical degree and sought every opportunity for further exposure.
Owen moved to Australia and fell in love with the local lifestyle, culture and weather. He completed his advanced Orthopaedic training locally, obtaining
FRACS whilst working throughout south-east Queensland. Owen has completed advanced training in primary and revision Arthroplasty via local Fellowship and has spent valuable time expanding his Foot and Ankle surgical skills under the tutelage of Dr Terry Saxby, one of the most experienced and well regarded Foot and Ankle surgeons in Australia.
Dr Jenkins actively participates in Medical student and Junior Doctor education via his Public appointment and is engaged in ongoing research projects.
He spends his down time with his young family and enjoys listening to music, reading and supporting his beloved Leeds United soccer team.
He understands the importance of communication and is committed to patient satisfaction via a holistic approach to care. Owen works closely with
the multi-disciplinary team including general and rehabilitation physicians and allied health services to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
Dr Jenkins conducts private practice at Sunnybank Private Hospital and has appointments in both the public and private sectors across South Brisbane.
Owen is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA)
