Dr Bhave seeks to provide holistic, patient-centred care, supported by the latest scientific evidence and a team-based approach. Through an honest and open communication style, Dr Bhave aims to ensure patients are equipped with the information needed to make well-informed decisions on their care.
Prior to her medical degree, Dr Bhave completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Melbourne. Following this, she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2012, after which she went on to complete her internship and internal medicine training at the Alfred Hospital. Dr Bhave then undertook further advanced training in medical oncology at the Northern Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Alfred Hospital.
Dr Bhave was admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) as a Fellow in 2019. She then completed a melanoma fellowship at Westmead Hospital and the world-renowned Melanoma Institute Australia in Sydney. Following this, she worked as a staff specialist at Liverpool Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, with a particular focus on Phase 1 clinical trials and gynaecological cancers. She has a strong interest in translational research and clinical trials, as she believes this is central to providing patients with novel and personalised treatment options.
Dr Bhave has published in numerous peer-reviewed academic journals, presented at both national and international conferences, and won multiple accolades for her research endeavours including the prestigious ASCO Conquer Cancer Merit Award, Best Presenter at the COSA annual scientific meeting on two occasions and being a finalist for the Morgan Mansell Prize for Young Victorian Melanoma Researcher of the Year.
She is a medical oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre where she is also undertaking a PhD in melanoma computational biology through the University of Melbourne, for which she has secured a highly competitive NHMRC scholarship.
Dr Prachi Bhave is a medical oncologist who treats a wide range of cancers, with a particular clinical interest in:

gynaecological cancers (e.g. ovarian, uterine)
genitourinary cancers (e.g. ovarian, uterine)
thoracic cancers thoracic (e.g. lung).
