Dr Sarah Mitchell

Dr Sarah Mitchell is a gynaecologist, obstetrician and fertility specialist, known for her kind and empathic nature. Her special interests include endometriosis and pelvic pain, advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery and reproductive medicine. Her other areas of interest include abnormal periods, fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome and hormonal mood disorders.

After graduating from medical school at The University of Melbourne, Dr Mitchell undertook her core specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. She then returned home to Queensland for 2 years of additional training in advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery at Gold Coast University Hospital with some of the best advanced gynaecological surgeons in Queensland. She has a special interest in caring for patients with endometriosis, including performing excision surgery, and she knows the value of integrative care and a multidisciplinary team.

Dr Mitchell is especially invested in helping people become parents. She holds a Master’s degree in reproductive medicine and infertility and is proud to offer assisted reproductive services including IVF. Dr Mitchell maintains a public appointment at Gold Coast University Hospital where she is passionate about nurturing, leading and educating the next generation of obstetricians and gynaecologists. Dr Mitchell believes that there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to medicine and she is passionate about providing individualised and holistic care.
