Dr Simon Chan

Dr Simon Chan graduated from University of Sydney in 1999.
He completed residency at Royal North Shore Hospital and went on to train in the specialty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Whilst in training he gained experience in various hospitals, including Westmead, Concord, Hornsby Hospitals and the Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney.

He attained fellowship in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine
in 2005 with distinction. Dr Chan has visiting appointments at the Sydney Adventist, Lady Davidson Private Hospital and North Gosford Private Hospitals. He is also staff specialist in the Division of Rehabilitation and Aged Care, Hornsby Ku-ringgai Hospital.

Dr Chan has particular interests in rehabilitation of the older person, musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation. In conjunction with colleagues at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, he is developing interest in the use of portable ultrasound to assist in the diagnosis and management of various neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr Chan is currently researching osteoporosis management in the rehabilitation setting and developing draft guidelines for appropriate bladder management for the older person in an inpatient hospital setting.
