Dr Su Mien Yeoh is a consultant Endocrinologist and specialist Physician at the Sunnybank Private Hospital.
She completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 1995 and moved to Brisbane for her postgraduate years at Royal Brisbane Hospital. Her interest in internal medicine led her to specialise in Endocrinology. She was awarded her FRACP in 2002. She also complemented her clinical work with research medicine and was awarded the NHMRC scholarship in 2003.
In 2002 she won the Powell Millennium Young Investigator Award and worked at the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital doing clinical and basic science research. In 2003 she won the Regional Diabetes Support Grant.
Her interests are in general endocrinology, in particular thyroid diseases, osteoporosis, PCOS, and Diabetes. She believes in empowering and equipping her patients with the necessary skills and knowledge in looking after their conditions by supporting them in every possible way such as regular e-mails and phone calls.
She provides quality medical care to all her patients with diabetes and endocrine problems by practicing evidence-based medicine and keeping abreast with the latest developments.
She is an honorary senior lecturer for the University of Queensland, where she mentors medical students, interns, residents and registrars at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. She has been an examiner for the RACP physician examinations for the last 18 years.
She received her recognition for 20 years’ service to Queensland Health in 2016.
