Dr Tasneem Mayat

Dr Tasneem Mayat is a geriatrician with particular interests in perioperative care, comprehensive geriatric reviews, orthogeriatrics,acute geriatrics and cognition assessment and management.  She is passionate about involving families in patient care and practices holistic aged care medicine, where physical and psychosocial well-being are equally prioritised.

Dr Mayat has an interest in medical research and quality in healthcare. In addition to presenting her research at several national geriatrics conferences, was the recipient of a Western Sydney Local Health District Quality Assurance Award.

She is a part time staff specialist Geriatrician at Campbelltown and Camden public hospital and a VMO at Campbelltown Private. Dr Mayat is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) and sat on their committee as Advanced Training Representative for two years.  She is also keenly involved in medical student training, having held teaching roles as a clinical lecturer with the University of Western Sydney. 

Dr Mayat was awarded her Medical Degree from the University of Natal in South Africa in 2007 then completed her specialist training in Australia, working at Westmead, Royal North Shore, Ryde and St George Public and Private Hospitals.
