Dr Tony Vo is a specialist cardiologist and interventional cardiologist providing both inpatient and outpatient services at Gold Coast University Hospital and Gold Coast Private Hospital in Southport.
Dr Vo earned his medical degree from the University of Melbourne and completed his cardiology training at various Australian teaching hospitals including Royal North Shore Hospital, Ryde Hospital, Launceston General Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital before settling into sunny Queensland and undertaking his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
During his time as a senior cardiology trainee and fellow, he was involved in approximately 4,000 procedures in not only coronary work with complex higher risk and indicated patients (CHIP) including left main stenting, bypass graft stenting, bifurcation stenting, primary PCI (heart attacks and cardiac arrests), CTO, Rotablation, Coronary Physiology and Imaging but also engaged in structural training as well with TAVI, BAV and PFO/ASD closures.
Dr Vo is also proficient in Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE), Trans-oesophageal Echocardiography (TOE), stress testing and cardioversion.
Dr Vo believes in enriching the next generation of medical students, cardiology trainees (and nurses), and enjoys teaching bedside and in the cathlab. His active involvement in teaching has been recognised and he has been invited on numerous occasions by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CVRF) to be the Australian ambassador for major internationally recognised interventional cardiology meetings (TCTAP, AP Valves and Structural Heart and Complex PCI).
