Dr Vinicius Carraro do Nascimento

Dr Vinicius Carraro do Nascimento is an Interventional Radiologist and Interventional Neuroradiologist at Gold Coast University Hospital and Qscan Radiology. In 2010, he completed his medical studies at the Federal University Foundation of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre, Brazil, and moved to Australia to become a diagnostic and interventional radiologist. 

After becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2019, he relocated to New Zealand, where he completed a one-year fellowship in interventional radiology. From May 2020 to May 2022, he completed an additional fellowship in interventional neuroradiology at Gold Coast University Hospital, where he works as a consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist. 

Dr Vini's main interests the the field of Neurointervention are:

• Acute ischaemic and hemorrhagic stroke

• Intra and extracranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and dural arteriovenous fistulas. 

• Pulsatile tinnitus

• Venous diseases of the brain and neck 

• Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) leaks

• Spinal intervention

In the field of General Intervention, his main interests are: 

• Image-guided biopsies

• Drainages

• Gastrointestinal and Urological intervention

• Biliary intervention

• Interventional oncology, including palliative interventional pain procedures

• Orthopaedic intervention, such as vertebroplasty

• Venous access
