Mr Rolls is a dual-trained (UK and Australia) vascular surgeon with a broad range of open and endovascular skills, having trained on the prestigious and highly competitive London vascular training program at internationally recognised centres of expertise, including St.Mary's, St.George's and Royal Free Hospitals. He completed a further three-year fellowship in advanced endovascular therapies at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, where he currently holds a public appointment.
Mr Rolls’ main clinical interests are fenestrated and branched treatment of complex aortic aneurysms, distal lower limb revascularisation and the treatment of acute and chronic deep venous pathologies. However, outside of these areas of focus, his scope of practice includes the full range of vascular procedures including open aortic repair, carotid surgery, lower limb bypass surgery and both open and endovenous therapy for varicose veins and pelvic venous insufficiency. Alex has an extensive research portfolio focused on the evaluation of novel endovascular techniques, the foundation of which was a doctoral thesis, completed at Imperial College London, which focused on the evaluation of robotic endovascular (keyhole) technology. He prides himself on the safe and evidence-based adoption of the latest endovascular techniques, as well as meticulous attention to detail with pre-operative planning and surgical technique.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys his free time with his wife and two children and his life-long sporting interests remain rugby union, road cycling and running.
