Dr Alan Cheng is an obstetrician and gynaecologist who believes that the foundation of exceptional care is a warm, genuine partnership with the women and families he supports.

He is passionate about walking alongside his patients through every chapter on their healthcare journey.

Alan’s approach is simple - he listens.

Dr Alan Cheng also performs Obstetrics outside of Sunnybank Private Hospital. Alan’s expertise is built on a foundation of extensive training across major hospitals in both Queensland and New South Wales.

He has completed the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (RANZCOG) advanced training modules in colposcopy, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, and general obstetrics and gynaecology.

He is a Fellow of RANZCOG, a clinical lecturer with the University of Queensland and James Cook University, and an active member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery society (AGES), and the Australasian Doctors' Association (AADA).

Originally from Hong Kong, he is deeply passionate about serving Brisbane's Chinese-speaking community, offering care that feels familiar, comfortable, and like home.

Alan consults at Southside Ob-Gyn and has a regular operating list at Sunnybank Private Hospital, where he admits patients.

Dr Hon Chuen (Alan) Cheng is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
