Dr Mohammed Khaleel, an Australian-trained general surgeon, has a special focus on Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary (HPB) and Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) surgery. Following his surgical training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) via Western Health, he completed three distinguished fellowships. While establishing a solid foundation as a general surgeon and endoscopist at Ballarat Base Hospital, Dr Mohammed Khaleel developed a specific interest in HPB and UGI surgery. Further enhancing his skills, he spent two years in renowned institutions, initially as an HPB Fellow at The Alfred and later as an HPB & Liver Transplant Fellow at the Austin Hospital.
Dr Mohammed Khaleel earned a Masters degree in minimally invasive surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2022, underscoring his commitment to advancing surgical techniOues and improving patient outcomes. He was honoured with the Rural Surgery Fellowship for Provincial Surgeons Grant from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).
Dr Mohammed Khaleel anticipates a transformative impact through innovative approaches, heralding a revolution in surgical procedures to reduce complications, surgical site infections, hospital stays, and expedite recovery. His diverse training in tertiary, regional, and rural health services, including South Australia, has expanded his clinical expertise, reinforcing his capacity to excel in various healthcare environments.
