Dr Muddassir Rashid is the Director of Interventional Radiology at Gold Coast University Hospital, and Consultant Paediatric Interventional Radiologist at Queensland Children's Hospital — a dual role that reflects his rare expertise spanning both adult and paediatric interventional practice.
An Associate Professor at Bond University Medical School and Senior Lecturer at Griffith University, Dr. Rashid brings over fifteen years of specialist radiology experience underpinned by an exceptional academic foundation. Dr Rashid is fellowship trained in paediatric radiology, body imaging, and interventional radiology. He has led Interventional Radiology services at Gold Coast Hospital Health Service since 2016, is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR), and holds the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) qualification. A prolific researcher with over 30 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at major international conferences including RSNA and GEST, he is also an alumnus of Queensland Health's Emerging Clinical Leadership Program.
Dr Rashid's practice encompasses the full spectrum of complex vascular, oncological, and paediatric interventions, and he is deeply committed to advancing patient care, clinical education, and research in interventional radiology.
