Dr Peter Ko

Dr Peter Ko is a specialist gastroenterologist with an interest in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, consulting and operating at Sunnybank Private Hospital.

He works as a senior staff specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Peter graduated from medical school in 2007 and completed his specialty training in South Korea. During this time, he completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in internal medicine.

Peter has been working as a consultant gastroenterologist since 2013 and achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2019. He has strong interest and extensive experience in treating large and complicated polyps and has a demonstrated track record of excellent outcomes.

Peter’s special interests include:

• High quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (gastroscopy/colonoscopy)

• Complex endoscopic resections (ESD, EMR)

Peter moved from South Korea to New Zealand in 2018, before settling in Brisbane in 2021. He is looking forward to developing long lasting relationships with general practitioners and patients in Brisbane. 

Dr Peter Ko is fluent in speaking both the English and Korean.
