Dr Scott Walker is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a unique background as a former physiotherapist. He draws on this additional experience to provide holistic care, particularly in the management of pelvic pain.
His training included specialisation in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Hysteroscopic Surgery. This broad experience allows Dr Walker to combine surgical techniques with a deep understanding of pain management. He provides comprehensive care for women with complex gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis. He also has extensive expertise in Colposcopy and the management of abnormal cervical screening results, as well as disorders of the vulva and vagina such as Vulvodynia and Lichen Sclerosus. He currently serves as the Colposcopy and Vulval Disorders Lead Gynaecologist at Logan Hospital.
Dr Walker manages the full range of gynaecological conditions, including all menstrual and bleeding problems. His particular interest is in the treatment of pelvic pain, including endometriosis and adenomyosis. He performs minimally invasive procedures such as Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, removal of ovaries and ovarian cysts, excision of endometriosis, and tubal ligation. He also offers Hysteroscopic procedures, including the removal of polyps and fibroids, as well as endometrial ablation.
Dr Walker’s practice is grounded in compassion, evidence-based care, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for women. He takes pelvic pain and bleeding seriously, and tailors individualised patient centred treatment, and works with each patient to manage their Gynaecological concerns effectively.
Dr Walker studied medicine at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, graduating in 2013. He then undertook further Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in Townsville and Tasmania, before returning to the Gold Coast to complete advanced training at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
He is committed to medical education and serves as an Honorary Assistant Professor at Bond University, where he is involved in training the next generation of doctors.
