Dr Stephen Kent is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty expertise in hand, wrist and microsurgical reconstruction, including nerve and tendon repair, trauma surgery, and complex upper limb conditions. He is passionate about delivering precise, evidence-based care tailored to each individual — helping patients regain movement, comfort, and the ability to return to the activities that matter most.
He completed orthopaedic surgical training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) across hospitals throughout Queensland and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He subsequently undertook two post-training fellowships:
Hand & Wrist Surgery – Gold Coast University Hospital
Upper Limb Surgery – Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane
As part of the Mudgeeraba Hand Clinic team, Dr Kent provides additional specialist capacity, allowing timely access for patients requiring early assessment. Dr Kent cares for patients from across the Gold Coast, Northern New South Wales, Southern Brisbane and surrounding regions.
