Dr Tony Dunin is an orthopaedic surgeon who has had considerable experience in hip and knee replacements and has been a pioneer in the development of the direct anterior approach for hip replacement surgery. Tony is regularly involved in teaching the anterior method for hip replacement to other orthopaedic surgeons nationally.
Tony has had several leadership roles within the orthopaedic community. He has served for seven years on the Federal Executive of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) and has been Chairman of the Victorian branch of the AOA. He has been involved with clinical research into joint replacements. He is also a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher.
Tony provides advice on hip and knee conditions as well as providing second opinions for patients. Tony also undertakes the use of radio-frequency ablation of knees for patients who are not quite ready for joint replacement surgery or who have co-mborbidities that would prevent such surgeries.
