Dr Aakansha Zala

Dr Aakansha Zala is a consultant endocrinologist with a wide range of experience having worked in public and private appointments in New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

She has a particular interest in women’s endocrine health, in particular diabetes and thyroid disorders.

Dr Zala began her medical career in Sydney at Nepean and Concord Repatriation Hospital. She completed her training at Gold Coast University Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital.

She is currently completing her PhD in Graves’ disease immunology at the Translational Research Institute (University of Queensland). She also holds an academic affiliation with Princess Alexandra Hospital along with academic titles at the University of Queensland and Griffith University.

Dr Zala has presented at national scientific medical conferences and authored peer reviewed articles in medical journals. She is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, The Australian Diabetes Association and the US Endocrine Society.

Dr Zala deeply values the importance of education when providing holistic medical care. This passion for teaching has translated into patient education being the cornerstone of her clinical practice.
