Dr Adam Gordon is based in Moorabbin and is part of the professional gastroenterology team at Healthscope and works at several other locations in the Bayside area.
Adam completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University in 1997 with honours, and completed his advanced training in gastroenterology at The Alfred Hospital in 2006. Adam completed his MD degree (Doctor of Medicine) at Monash University in 2009.
Adam has a particular clinical interest in bowel cancer screening and has significant experience in this area. Adam is an endoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP), and he has served as a member of a working group for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Register.
Adam provides expert care in general gastroenterology and hepatology, and gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy.
The practice performs hydrogen/methane breath testing (for fructose and lactose malabsorption), and breath testing for the bacteria Helicobacter pylori (a bacterium that can reside in the stomach and is associated with abdominal pain, stomach ulcers and stomach cancer).
Adam is Secretary of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) Private Practice Network.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), and Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
Adam has a public appointment at The Alfred Hospital, and he is an adjunct senior lecturer at Monash University Medical School.
