Dr Ahmed Maruid is a highly experienced consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and the Ex-Director of the Maternity Unit at Fairfield Hospital. He completed his O&G training entirely within the Sydney Southwest Area Health Service, where he worked at Liverpool Public Hospital as an Accredited Registrar, Senior Registrar, Pelvic Fellow and Feto-Maternal Fellow.
Dr Maruid offers 15+ years of experience working as an O&G across some of Sydney's busiest public and private hospitals. During his career, he has developed impeccable surgical skills and actively maintains his clinical knowledge thanks to his busy commitments at the public system, where he is exposed to a wide range of standard and complex clinical presentations, high-risk pregnancies and various gynaecological conditions that are managed conservatively or with advanced laparoscopic "minimally invasive" surgery.
Management of high-risk obstetrics including performing a tertiary level ultrasound for foetal wellbeing and growth.
Advanced laparoscopic procedures (level 5) such as laparoscopic hysterectomy.
Resection of endometrial fibroids and endometrial ablation.
Management of abnormal pap smears including colposcopy.
Assessment and management of infertility.
Advanced gynaecological surgical procedures – myomectomy and excision of pelvic endometriosis.
High risk obstetrics procedures – forceps delivery and complicated caesarean sections.
Vaginal surgery – repair of Cystocele, rectocele, hysterectomy and Pelvic re-construction.
Urogynecology procedure – slings for stress urinary incontinence and cystoscopy.
Cosmetic procedures – labiaplasty and pelvic floor repair.
