Dr Alister Ramachandran

Dr. Alister Ramachandran is an internationally recognised specialist in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, with a broad and rigorous training background spanning India, the UK & Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia. He holds dual specialist qualifications in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine from both Australia and Ireland, reflecting his extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to advancing the field.

Dr. Ramachandran is the Director of Pain Medicine at Westmead Public Hospital, a Medical Examiner with the Faculty of Pain Medicine, and a Senior Lecturer at a leading Australian university. In these roles, he is actively involved in clinical education, research, and the supervision of postgraduate trainees, and he is also an Accredited Procedural Supervisor with a strong focus on developing the next generation of pain specialists.

In addition to his public hospital responsibilities, Dr. Ramachandran consults in private practice, where he provides comprehensive care to individuals with chronic and complex pain conditions. His approach is patient-centred and evidence-based, combining:

• Advanced interventional procedures, including image-guided nerve blocks, radiofrequency neurotomy, and neuromodulation
