Dr Alkesh Zala

Dr Zala is an Australian trained Specialist Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with vast clinical experience in managing complex gastrointestinal disorders. He currently works as a Staff Specialist at the John Hunter Hospital and also is affiliated with University of Newcastle and Hunter Medical Research institute (HMRI).

His interests include inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastrointestinal motility disorders, bowel cancer screening and general hepatology. He also offers diagnostic and interventional endoscopy for investigation and management of gastrointestinal bleeding and colorectal cancer surveillance. He believes in providing high quality specialist services and holistic care to patients with complex medical problems.
