Dr Allan Hsu was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, Melbourne. His residency was at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. He completed basic physician training at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney and Liverpool Hospital. He attained his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with subspecialisation in geriatric medicine at Bankstown Hospital and general medicine in Campbelltown Hospital.
Dr Hsu has sixteen years of experience in general medicine and nine years in practising general medicine and geriatric medicine, with special interest in peri-operative medicine, cognitive assessment, behavioural problems secondary to dementia, polypharmacy, pain management, post-stroke optimisation and falls prevention.
In addition to his practices, he is a member of The Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM) and AGS (American Geriatric Society).
Dr Hsu is a passionate educator who had taken the role of conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales and Western Sydney University. He was an examiner for medical students at the aforementioned universities.
Dr Hsu speaks fluent English, Taiwanese and Mandarin.
