Dr Ambreen Mansoor is a fully qualified Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Minimally Invasive surgeon, currently serving the community in both public and private settings. She is currently a Staff Specialist at Blacktown Hospital managing high-risk pregnant patients and complex gynaecological pathologies.
Dr Mansoor has a special interest in the management of high risk pregnancies, infertility and minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy), and believes that empathy plays a pivotal role in providing quality patient care.
Dr Mansoor underwent early formative Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at a premier tertiary unit in Pakistan. Following her fellowship there, she obtained fellowship at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK.
She gained valuable experience in managing complex cases of infertility in Kuwait, where she worked as a fertility specialist in one of the Middle East’s leading fertility and IVF centres for several years.
More recently in 2014, Dr Mansoor became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She has worked in numerous metropolitan and rural centres across the country and believes in giving back to aspiring doctors through her active involvement in the training and assessment of medical students and junior doctors. She is a Conjoint Lecturer at schools of Medicine at both UNSW and WSU. She is a training supervisor of doctors specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and deeply appreciates the opportunity to mentor and pass on her skills to doctors in training.
Having worked in diverse clinical settings across various areas, Dr Mansoor understands the needs and cultural sensitivities of patients from a variety of backgrounds, and believes that trust and understanding are integral in ensuring quality clinical care.
Dr Mansoor combines an exceptional level of expertise in her chosen fields with her natural compassion and understanding of her patients' needs, to ensure holistic and thorough outcomes for all her patients. She is a keen listener and treats women with utmost due diligence and attention.
As a mother of 3 children, her personal experiences supplement her understanding of the challenges faced by women in their journey through motherhood. She is a busy mum but in her spare time, she enjoys cooking a variety of different cuisines and is passionate about general fitness and Pilates.
Apart from English, she communicates fluently in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
