Associate Professor Andrew Bucknill, is an orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in hip and knee surgery, as well as pelvic trauma. He is Head of the Orthopaedic Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He works full time at the Melbourne Private & Royal Melbourne Hospitals & has driven forwards the orthopaedic improvement plan to re-organise & develop the Orthopaedic Unit to improve quality of care, training & academic activity.
He was chair of the Steering committee for state-wide implementation of the Victorian Orthopaedic Waiting List Project (OA Hip & Knee Service).
Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne, Andrew is active in research & teaching and is one of Australia’s most prolific scientific contributors. He is a reviewer for Orthopaedics’ premier journal, the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery & is faculty on the internationally-renowned AO courses for Fracture Management.
Andrew trained in London at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital & Imperial College.
