Dr Andrew Kiyingi

Dr Andrew Kiyingi is Weight-loss and General Surgeon with advanced training in minimally invasive surgery.

Dr Kiyingi schooled in Sydney and graduated from the University of Otago (NZ) and was awarded the University Gold Medal in General Practice and Distinction in Surgery. Dr Andrew Kiyingi completed surgical training at St Vincents Hospital Melbourne and was awarded Fellowship (FRACS) under the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2014. He has since undertaken 3 years of further advanced training in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery which included the prestigious Phoenix Health Bariatric Fellowship in Liverpool, England in 2016. During this time he spent 12 months working along side world renowned expert Prof David Kerrigan who is one of the pioneers of laparoscopic bariatric surgery in the UK and a Founding Member of The British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society.

Dr Andrew Kiyingi was involved in over 300 bariatric procedures including Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Single Anastomosis Gastric Bypass and Revisional Surgery. He also had the opportunity to work alongside Dr Haris Khwaja – Founder of the International Bariatric Club and spent time with acclaimed Bariatric Author and Surgeon Dr Sanjay Agrawal at Homerton University Hospital in London. This has enabled Dr Andrew Kiyingi to master his skills as a surgeon of excellence.

Dr Andrew Kiyingi is currently a Surgical Trainer for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Obesity Surgical Society Australia NZ (OSSANZ), General Surgeons Australia (GSA), The British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), The Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and The International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
