Dr Anke Nguyen is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a special interest in bowel disorders. She is a Senior Staff Specialist at Eastern Health and Austin Health, where she regularly supervises junior doctors and medical students.

Anke graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from Deakin University in 2012. She completed her gastroenterology specialist training in 2020 at major metropolitan centres including the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Health. Anke then completed a PhD in inflammatory bowel disease through Monash University as well as a 1.5-year training and research fellowship at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany.

Anke is skilled in performing endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) and intestinal ultrasound. Anke welcomes referrals for all gastrointestinal conditions, including direct access to endoscopy, basic evaluations of gastrointestinal symptoms or liver function derangement as well as management of chronic gastrointestinal conditions. All referrals are reviewed within a week and patients can be seen urgently via telehealth if needed.

Anke speaks fluent English and German. She enjoys spending time with her young family, the outdoors, baking and reading.
