Dr Arshad Barmare

Dr Arshad Barmare is a highly experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon consulting at John Fawkner Private Hospital.

His goal is to achieve the highest quality of life with the least risk.

He has worked in various capacities across Victoria, including Deputy Director of Orthopaedics at the Alfred Hospital. Arshad is a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) and International Affiliate American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). Mr Barmare has particular expertise in joint replacement, trauma, sports injuries, and all facets of orthopaedics and the musculoskeletal system.

He has a particular clinical interest in adult reconstruction and sport and trauma related injuries. He is an AOA Trainee Supervisor, has a teaching role at the University of Melbourne, is an AMC assessor and an examiner at the University of Melbourne MD program.

A pioneer in his field, Arshad treats patients with joint pain, utilising the most advanced diagnostic and surgical techniques.
