Dr Brindi Rasaratnam is an experienced Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist, who is committed to providing gastrointestinal, hepatology care as well as performing gastroscopies and colonoscopies in locations around the south eastern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Having completed his Medical degree with Honours at Monash University, he proceeded with an Internship and Residency at The Alfred Hospital. He went on to complete his Physicians training exam, receiving FRACP recognition and subsequently completing his Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy training at The Alfred Hospital where he continues to work as a senior visiting consultant, to date.
Having received his FRACP, we undertook a PhD in Hepatology, examining the circulatory disturbances in patients with cirrhosis of the liver with reference to portal hypertensive bleeding, ascites formation and other end stage complications of this illness.
This was under the supervision of Professor Frank Dudley and The Baker Medical Unit.
Work from this study was published in national and international journals including two primary author studies in the prestigious Annals of Internal Medicine. He was also invited to speak at both national and international conferences over a three to four period.
