Dr Catherine Turner

Dr Turner is a highly experienced colorectal surgeon with 15+ years of experience working across South-West and Southern Sydney. She has undertaken a number of research activities that have had subsequent publications in the area of pelvic floor disorders.

Dr Turner is experienced in laparoscopic surgery for both benign and malignant diseases, with a subspecialty interest in pelvic floor disorders and complex anorectal fistulae. She is implementing the use of Sacral Nerve Stimulation for treatment of anal incontinence, and TEMS for excision of benign and early rectal tumours.

She is currently extending the minimally invasive approach by using the Da Vinci robot which adds 3D vision and more precision in more complex surgical procedures.

Since her appointment as a VMO Colorectal Surgeon at Bankstown Hospital in 2009 she has been instrumental in establishing the SKC Wong Centre for Anorectal Diagnostics and Treatment, of which she is now the Director.
