Dr Chris Nahm is a Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and General Surgeon and is experienced in laparoscopic gallbladder and hernia surgery, and surgical resection of liver, pancreas and biliary tract tumours.
Dr Nahm graduated medical school with honours at the University of New South Wales. Having completed training in General Surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital, he was awarded Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and then undertook a research fellowship in pancreatic cancer surgery culminating in the award of a PhD from the University of Sydney.
Dr Nahm ranked 1st nationwide in the Australia New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association Fellowship match, and undertook further advanced training in complex upper gastrointestinal and liver/pancreas surgery at Westmead Hospital. He then moved to the United Kingdom to undertake a senior clinical fellowship in complex liver surgery and abdominal organ transplantation at St James's University Hospital in Leeds. He thus obtained ANZHPBA accreditation in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He has been appointed as a Consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and General Surgeon at Westmead Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital.
He is an Editorial Board Member of HPB (Elsevier), the Official Journal of the International Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association (IHPBA). He is Co-Director of the Masters of Surgery Program at The University of Sydney. He co-leads the pancreatic cancer research program at the Westmead Hospital Surgical Innovations Unit. He was the 2022 Recipient of the Westmead Association Award for Teaching in Surgery. He has published extensively in topics regarding liver, biliary and pancreatic cancer.
