A/Prof Cliff Choong is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon with a particular clinical interest in Thoracic Surgery. He currently consults at Knox Private Hospital, and Holmesglen Private Hospital in Victoria.
After completing his medical degree at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Cliff completed further advanced training and received his Fellowship of the Royal Australasia College of Surgeons in General Surgery, followed by Cardiothoracic Surgery. He was awarded the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) Evarts Graham Traveling Fellowship Award and subsequently continued his training at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St Louis, USA.
A/Prof Choong completed his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in England in 2007 and commenced consulting as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon in England at the Papworth Hospital in Cambridge. During his time he also worked as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cambridge.
He returned to Australia in 2009 and commenced consulting in Melbourne, Victoria. Aside from his clinical roles, A/Prof Choong actively contributes to research in various peer-reviewed journals and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Monash University.
Treatment of haemoptysis, lung cancer, lung nodules or masses, chest wall masses, enlarged intrathoracic lymph nodes, pneumothorax, rib or sternal abnormalities, non-cardiac chest pain and other thoracic diseases.
