Dr Conroy Howson

I am South African born Chinese and completed my training as an Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgeon in Johannesburg, South Africa through the College of Medicine of South Africa, attaining my Fellowship in 1998.

I then practised in the United Kingdom as an ENT Consultant with the East Kent NHS Trust for nearly six years running a busy ENT service.

My new life in Australia began in 2005 in Cairns, far north Queensland where I was Director of ENT, Head and Neck Surgery for the Cairns and Hinterland District for 5 years. I went on to establish a new and comprehensive ENT service out of Cairns Base Hospital.

In addition to my South African ENT Fellowship qualification, I also hold a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons having successfully completed the examination in 2007. I am also a member of the Australian Society of Head and Neck Surgeons.

I am happy to see both adult and paediatric patients. I offer a broad, comprehensive and caring ENT service. I have a particular clinical interest in Rhinology and Otology. I perform tonsillectomies on Children from 12 months of age at Sunnybank Private Hospital.
