Prof Cu Tai Lu

Prof Lu graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1998 before moving to Queensland to complete his general surgical training. After having obtained his Fellowship in general surgery (FRACS) in 2007, he embarked on laboratory research in colorectal cancer at James Cook University in North Queensland. In 2009, he completed two years of post fellowship training in colorectal surgery overseen by the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand in Australia (CSSANZ), which he is still a member of.

Prof Lu has a keen interest in research, in particular Colorectal Cancer research, and has completed his Master by Research Higher Degree. He is also actively involved in clinical and laboratory research in collaboration with Griffith University. Prof Lu is involved in training junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students on the Gold Coast.

Prof Lu is very experienced in colorectal surgery and offers a full range of colorectal procedures including Laparoscopic Colectomy to Laparoscopic Rectopexy, Complex Anal Fistulae, Open Access and Therapeutic Colonoscopy. He is happy to be contacted by GPs and other healthcare professionals to discuss and admit patients at Gold Coast Private Hospital.
