Dr Darren Paterson

Darren was born and raised on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. He gained international experience in Primary and Revision hip Arthroplasty surgery at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, Exeter, Devon, UK. He then completed a Harvard Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Darren completed a Paediatric Orthopaedic hip fellowship at the Shrivers Hospital in Portland, Oregon, USA.

Darren is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 15 years Surgical experience, offering services presently across the Sydney, Northern Beaches, Central Coast, and South Coast regions. He is committed to the provision of best practice evidence based surgery, balanced with aconsiderate and tailored approach to patient care. He has performed over 3500 hip and knee replacements. 

Current research interests include stem cell therapy in young adults with moderate to severe osteoarthritis of the lower limbs and minimally invasive arthroplasty of the hip and knee.
