Dr Dean Yeh obtained his medical degree from the University of Newcastle in 2001. His training in general surgery was completed at Concord Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital.
Dr Yeh has been a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons since 2011. Post-fellowship, Dr Yeh completed two years of training in advance laparoscopic colorectal surgery at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane and at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney.
Fascinated with minimally invasive surgery, Dr Yeh became interested in robotic surgery. In 2014, Dr Yeh undertook an additional fellowship in robotic colorectal surgery at two world famous centres. He spent over 12 months with Professor Seon-Hahn Kim at Korea University Anam Hospital in Seoul, South Korea and with Professor David Jayne at St James University Hospital in Leeds, UK. As part of the robotic fellowship, Dr Yeh wrote a book chapter with Professor Kim in the book entitled “Robotic Approaches to Colorectal Surgery”.
Dr Yeh is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.
