Dr Desmond Chee

Dr Desmond Chee is a Gastroenterologist with a special interest in luminal bowel disorders including IBD and IBS. After completing specialist training at the Alfred and Monash, Des completed a two year advanced IBD fellowship at the renowned Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust in the UK.

Des is experienced in all areas of gastroenterology and provides high quality endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He is happy to be contacted by GPs directly for advice and strives to see all patients within 2 weeks for initial consultation.

Des consults from Ringwood and Vermont South and performs endoscopy at Knox Private and Ringwood Private hospitals. Patients may also elect to have their procedure performed at Monash or Eastern Health where Des holds a public appointment.

Direct access endoscopy is available, as is FibroScan. Consultations and FibroScan do incur an out of pocket cost, however there is no gap for endoscopy if privately insured.
