A/Prof Desmond Yip

Professor Desmond Yip is a graduate of the University of Sydney training in medical oncology at Westmead Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital prior to a three-year Fellowship at the Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital in London. He is presently the Clinical Director of the Department of Medical Oncology at the Canberra Region Cancer Centre at The Canberra Hospital.

He is an academic oncologist who has expertise in novel cancer drug development and has translational research collaborations with laboratory scientists. He is an active member of the Australasian Gastrointestinal Trials Group (AGITG) serving on clinical trial management committees as well as leading an international multicentre study.

He has academic appointments at the Australian National University, University of Canberra and University of Sydney.
