Assoc. Prof. Angstetra commenced his private practice at the Women’s Health Centre at Gold Coast Private Hospital in 2017. He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
He completed his general obstetrics and gynaecology training through John Hunter Hospital training network in Newcastle before undergoing two and a half years of advanced gynaecological endoscopic training at Sydney South West Area Health Service. In 2011, Dr Angstetra trained at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney as a pelvic surgical fellow, mastering the advanced surgical treatment of endometriosis and complex pelvic surgery.
Dr Angstetra is a senior consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Gold Coast University and Robina Hospitals. He has recently been appointed as an honorary Associate Professor at Bond University.
He has a strong interest in endometriosis and is involved in research in this area. Dr Angstetra is an endometriosis expert (AGES Level 6) with extensive experience in minimally invasive pelvic surgery. He encourages a multidisciplinary approach to managing complex endometriosis cases.
He also has a keen interest in applying minimally invasive surgery for all benign diseases. His passion for advanced gynaecological laparoscopic surgery sees him fit the role as the training-site director of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES) and as O&G training supervisor for RANZCOG training program.
He has published articles in peer reviewed journals and presented multiple papers at local, national and international meetings and is fluent in Bahasa, Malay and Hokkien.
